Ihsahn is the founder, vocalist, guitarist, and primary creative force behind Norwegian black metal pioneers Emperor.

Emerging from the influential early ’90s Norwegian black metal scene, he helped shape the genre with Emperor’s landmark albums, including In the Nightside Eclipse and Anthems to the Welkin at Dusk.

Beyond Emperor, Ihsahn has built a highly respected solo career, blending extreme metal with progressive, experimental, and classical influences. A defining figure in extreme metal, his work continues to push the boundaries of the genre.
